BQ27Z561-R2: Use of authenticator and built in memory

Part Number: BQ27Z561-R2
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ27Z561

Hi Support team

My customer is working on a new design with the bq27z561 and has a few questions.

How many keys for authentication can be stored in it?

Also can I use the in-built memory (I believe it is the data flash) to store the instructions for the battery firmware?

Thanks

Jeff Coletti

  • Hello Jeff,

Only one key can be stored for authentication.

The manufacturing info blocks can be used to save any data needed. You could store codes in the info blocks that would indicate what the MCU firmware needs to do, you can't change the instruction flash on the gauge.

    Sincerely,

    Wyatt Keller
