BQ40Z50-R2: BQStudio Communication Error

Hi Team,

I have a question from a customer on an error they're seeing with BQStudio and connecting to the BQ40Z50 EVM. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

The set up is Li-Ion battery + BQ40Z50 EVM + EV2400 + BQS 1.3.101 + Windows laptop. Question is, BQ40Z50 shut down unexpectedly with an error ‘No acknowledge from device’ at left bottom corner.

The fix I tried:

  1. Upgrade firmware to R3
  2. Config the NR in Data Memory to set gauge in non-removable mode
  3. Press ‘wake’ button on the module

The first 2 fix’s could not help with the same error ‘No ack from device’ while the battery could not be boot up. Battery wakes up after pressing ‘wake’ button but shuts down after 1 second.

The cell pins are connected to J1 and J5 terminal block as BQ40z50EVM Li-Ion Battery Pack Manager Evaluation Module Manual described (link).

Could there be some configs I need to set?
