bq30z55-r3 after full charge, RSOC becomes 0%

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO

TI TEAM
When using bq30z55-r3 two series notebook application, after charging to 100%, RSOC becomes 0%. I don't know what causes it? DataFlash sets the MOSFET to close after full charge. After full charge, the MOSFET closes normally, as shown in the figure below:

  • Hello,

How many packs have you seen this occur?

Can you share the log of the charge and the .gg file of the config? We'll take a closer look at that's occurring.

    Sincerely,

    Wyatt Keller

  • Dear Wyatt Keller

    TKS for your reply!

At present, the proportion of non-performing loans is: 7 out of 100000

The phenomenon is single, when RSOC is 100%, RSOC, ASoC and RM are all 0

After canceling the chgfet in setting-charging configuration, the inserted charging data will return to normal

Attached is the NG gg file

  • Hello,

So this is a rare occurrence. Can you share the log of this happening as well? With these 7 packs does it happen on every charge or only once?

If you send a reset command does it fix the issue as well? I'm not sure why hanging the FET config would clear this kind of issue.

    Sincerely,

    Wyatt Keller

  • Dear Wyatt Keller:

    1. The customer found it in the aging workshop during the charging and discharging aging of the whole machine

    2. When the notebook is full, low power alarm will appear

    3. The charger can not be plugged in and out repeatedly

    4. Reset command can be corrected

    5. When the battery has charging current, it can also be corrected, so turn off the charging MOS function after full charging

At present, there is no better way to solve it. I look forward to your good suggestions, tks!

    1. At present, the zener diode is replaced by TVS zener or ESD zener at the communication end to increase the anti-static or interference ability

    2. Turn off the charging MOS function after full charging. After the charger is inserted, there is charging current and the fault will be corrected

  • add correct data

  • Hello,

Can you share the logged data in csv format? If you have the test logged with bqStudio and then a .gg before and after it would be the most helpful for debug.

    Sincerely,

    Wyatt Keller
