LP5009: using FET to force OUT1 low to signal a fault

Part Number: LP5009

Hi Team,

I would like to get your confirmation regarding our customer application with LP5009 below:

The customer needs to add external circuitry to the output of the device - the Out1 pin. If puling it low with a FET, will that damage the LP5009?

They are not basically looking to short the output of the 5009 to GND at certain times. If the 5009 is off, does Out1 float or drive high?

If they lose the I2C bus, they will lose control of the 5009. So they need to force OUT1 low to signal a fault

Please let me know your comment.

Thanks,

Jonathan
