Thanks for reaching out with your questions.
The equation from the application note uses the simplified equations from the transfer function of the plant. This doesn't include the effects of slope compensation. The quick-start calculator uses the plant transfer function that includes slope compensation and will more accurately calculated the RCOMP value. Note including the slope compensation into the plant transfer function makes deriving a simple equation not possible, this is why the equation from the application note is slightly different from the excel calculator.
