UCC24624: IC heating up too much

Part Number: UCC24624

Dear Sir,

We are using UCC24624 synchronous rectifier controller in 200W Power supply design.

Output spec is 24V/7.5A.

At 55 deg ambient IC is heating upto 105deg.

Could you please help with the design calculation of resistor placed between VSS pin & GND of the IC.

Regards,

Jilna Jayan

  • Hi, Jilna

could you test the voltage of VD1/2 when VG1/VG2 turned off? It will be used to calculate resistor between VSS pin to GND.

BTW, increasing resistor between VG1/2 to Gate of SR MOSFET is also useful to decrease temperature of UCC24624.
