TPS54302: current limit during start-up

Could you help share the SCH for us to review ? and it would be helpful if attach the waveform of startup .

it is okay even trigger OCP at start up for me.  What's the concern of customers if trigger OCP ?

Normally you can try a larger inductor to reduce the peak current and a soft start function (While TPS54302 not support adjustable soft start ).

Hi Charles,

TPS54302 has cycle-by-cycle current limit in both high-side MOSFET protects the converter in an overload condition and is enhanced by a low-side MOSFET freewheeling current limit which prevents current runaway. So TPS54302 does have monitor the current cycle by cycle even in starting-up.

What is your oversee the current spike meaning? Try to set the current spike small during startup? It may can't fulfill.

There was a typo here, I would like to say "overlook". I mean starting up regardless of current level.

My customer doesn't want IC to shut down at start up, and based on your reply, I might recommend other IC for him.
