Hi
The peak current is only 4A as below, but we have to set 30A current limitation by Ilim resistor, otherwise the output will be turned off as picture 2, schematic is also attached, could you please help? Thanks.

Hi Wayne,
- What version of the TPS1HB35 are you currently using? Note that only version C of this family of devices will clamp the current. The other versions will turn off.
- In addition, the adjustable current limit for this device has a max of 6A before the value is set to the internal current limit of 14A.
Hi Wayne,
Thank you for the quick reply. Since you are currently using a version A of the device, the behavior of the High Side Switch would be to immediately turn off after an over current event takes place.
I do not believe we have any device that would be able to clamp the current at exactly 30A, but I will do an internal check in case I am missing something.
Hi Francis
Thanks for your quick support.
Do you mean at the power up moment, the initial current is only 6A because the Ilim resistor is not set yet?
The 30A I mentioned is not my actual peak current, my actual peak current is only 4 A but I have to set 30A current limitation to output the desired average 3A . My question is why we need so high 30A limitation. Thanks.
Hi Wayne,
This device will not be able to be set for a 30A current limit. The max current limit you can set this device for is 10A before you default into the 14A internal current limit. The attached table shows the upper and lower limit for the adjustable current limit as the out of range internal current limit.
