BQ24073: Inquiries regarding incorrect connection between BQ24073 and battery pack

Hi,

What happens when the battery pack is incorrectly connected to the BAT pin of the BQ24073?

The BAT+ terminal of the original battery pack should be connected to the BAT pin (2th, 3th pin) of BQ24073,

and BAT- should be connected to GND.

But if the connection is reversed, what kind of defects are likely to occur?

    Hi MJ,

    As the absolute maximum rating is -0.3 to 5 V and a battery can range from 3 V to 3.7V if not too discharged, a reverse connection to the battery pin would be beyond these ratings. Beyond the absolute maximum ratings, this may cause permanent damage and extended time beyond these ratings may cause the device to operate unreliably even if operation is corrected.
