Hi Team, 

Good day, we received query from customer and want to confirm regarding the load regulation of TPS562201. Below is the query.

I feel difficult to understand figure 8-3 load regulation which is shown in datasheet. This is load regulation at 12V and it shows voltage ratio as loads are increasing. For example, other IC has 0.4% load regulation specification but Figure 8-3 look like Load regulation is 1.8% when load is "0" and -0.5% when load is 2A. For the question.

1. What is the Load regulation specification of TPS562201.

2. What way to improve load regulation for TPS562201

    Hi Maynard,

    For most applications, ±2% load regulation is acceptable. As you can see from Figue8-3, TPS562201 has slightly higher output voltage(up to 1.8%) at light load because it operates in pulse skip mode, which maintains high efficiency during light load operation. If customer prefer better load regulation performance and not very care about efficiency at light load, you can promote TPS562208, of which output voltage is only up to 0.5% higher than setting value at light load.
