If the battery is never discharged fully (or even below 70%), will that cause the fuelgauge's learned capacity (Full Charge Capacity) to drift over many cycles?
I've have seen from our logs that after a few charge-discharge cycles the state-of-health drops to the order of 85% of normal capacity. I've also seen that the batteries are almost never discharged to below 80% before they are fully charged again. It is with a 7200mAh lithium-polymer battery. Current draw is never more than 1.5A and charging is also done at 1.5A. We are well within the specs of the battery.
