TPS82140: Output shorted to GND

Part Number: TPS82140
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS62140

Hello,

The TPS82140 has an upper switch current limit of 4A (range 3-4A) - if the output is shorted to GND, would the module essentially hiccup to 4A at some frequency, with Thermal protection kicking in at some point thereafter?

Although there isn't inherit Short circuit protection (as far as I can tell), would the device at lease survive?

Thank you in advance,

Iain
