BQ76952: Conversion the 24 bits ADC cell current data to userA data.

Part Number: BQ76952

Hi again:

Based on your previous answer,  is the eq. 1 bit = VREF2 / (5 * 2^23) = 29.564nV for current calculation is also applied for calculation of the 24 bits cell current data that can be read by reading registers 0x0071, 72 etc. ?

Please advise the right conversion the 24 bits ADC  data to userA data.

Thanks

Dan

  • Hi Dan,

The raw counts are not affected by the userA setting. Multiplying the results by this factor (29.564nV) will give you the voltage across the sense resistor. Dividing by the sense resistor value will give you the current in A.

userA can be set to 0.1mA, 1mA, 10mA, or 100mA. So to convert to mA for example, you would multiply by 1000.

    Best regards,

    Matt

  • Hi Matt:

    Just to be sure:

I have 0.001 ohm sense resistor.

If I get  raw adc count for charge current  value as, for example,  1000000, and I mult it by 29.5nV I get   0.0295  volts.

for current value I must devide it by 0.001 ohm resistor value to get 29.5 amper...

    Is that OK?

How cell #  rwa current adc counts that |I get by 0071,72... and the 29.5nV are related as I dont have resistor value for the cell current meaurement to use in calculation...

    What I dont understand?
