TPS709-Q1: Inquiries about UL standard certification

Part Number: TPS709-Q1

Hi,

When manufacturing an end-equipment using the following products from a customer,

there was an inquiry about whether it would be a problem in obtaining UL standard certification.

Can there be a problem in obtaining UL standard certification when using the following products?

Part name : TPS70933QDBVRQ1

In my opinion, UL standard certification does not seem to be a problem because it is an end-equipment.

However, is it possible to check if each of the above products has UL-related certification or if there is a required product?

Is there a way to check if the component has UL certification?

Thanks.

Regards,

MJ

  • Hi MJ,

This product has not undergone UL certification. Typically if there has been 3rd party certifications they will be listed in the product folder of the device.

  • Hi, Mark

When manufacturing end equipment, will it be a problem to obtain UL standard certification for end equipment if it is manufactured by applying parts without UL certification?

    Thanks,

  • Hi MJ,

I am definitely not an expert when it comes to UL certification, but I don't think that you will have a problem getting an end equipment certified if you use parts that were not UL certified as long as the design will meet the UL requirements. I think that after the system is assembled as a whole it will then have to be UL certified again even if the products used were UL certified.
