TPS50601A-SP: Leakage current into the VSENSE pin.

Part Number: TPS50601A-SP

On sheet 15 of the TPS50601A-SP datasheet in paragraph 7.3.3, it states: "If the values are too high, the regulator is more susceptible to noise and voltage errors from the VSENSE input current are noticeable." What is the typical and max VSENSE input currents? It's not obvious in the Electrical Characteristics table what the this current is. The Error Amplifier has 250uA with a 100mV input overdrive. But 250uA seems too high for normal operation, i.e, not in overdrive. Thanks.

  • HI,

The 250uA source/sink spec to which you refer is actually the output current of error amplifier.  The input current was not characterized  so I don't have this data. However, it is known to be in the nano-amp range under normal operation. All characterization of this device was done with 10kohm RTOP resistor.

    Thanks,

    Christian
