LM5176: Alternative Part Advise

Hi Team,

1. Could you advise me on an alternative part for MPQ4470? P2P solution? (LM5176?)

(1) Vin: 4.5 - 65V, Aout: 3A, Output: 3.8V/ 1A

(2) Vin: 4.5 - 65V, Aout: 5A, Output: 12V/ 2A

2. Another one, RT7272B. P2P solution? (TLV62568 1A,  TLV62569 2A, TLV62585 3A?)

(1) Vin: 2.7 - 5.5V, Aout: 3A, Output: 3.3V/ 1A

(2) Vin: 4.5 - 65V, Aout: 3A, Output: 3.3V/ 1A

Need suggestion from your profession view. and I am wondering can you share the roadmap of DCDC to me? THanks

    As first thing, I would use the BOM&cross reference tool to see TI equivalent parts.

    This tool also tells you if the part is a direct replacement or if it has the same functionalities.

    I see from the datasheet of the MPQ4470 that this part is a 4.5V-to-36V stepdown converter. Do you need a part with the same specs as the MPQ4470 or do you need something that is fulfilling these specs that you posted: 

    (1) Vin: 4.5 - 65V, Aout: 3A, Output: 3.8V/ 1A

    (2) Vin: 4.5 - 65V, Aout: 5A, Output: 12V/ 2A

    The RT7272B is also a stepdown converter with VIN 4.5V to 36V. Do you need a replacement for this specific part or do you need to fulfill the specs you posted

    (1) Vin: 2.7 - 5.5V, Aout: 3A, Output: 3.3V/ 1A

    (2) Vin: 4.5 - 65V, Aout: 3A, Output: 3.3V/ 1A

    The LM5176's max input voltage rating is 60V, so it cannot be used directly to support your 2nd use case (Vin: 4.5 - 65V, Iout: 5A, Output: 12V/ 2A).  

    Regarding other applications, you basically need a buck controller or converter, and our group are support boost and buck-boost.  I am forwarding your post to BSR.

      1. I am not aware of any pin-to-pin compatible device. I can recommend the following, LMR36520, which has the same functionality.
      2. We do not have a converter that can meet the specified requirements. You might want to try a controller. Our group only supports converters.
    • RT7272B:
      1. Again, not aware of any pin-to-pin compatible device. This would need a buck-boost converter and our group only supports buck converters.
      2. I am not aware of any pin-to-pin compatible device. I can recommend the following, LMR36520, which has the same functionality.
