TPS2546: CDP / SDP2 seamless mode transition

Part Number: TPS2546

Hello,

I am trying to control charging current while speaking to the usb device using the mentioned chip..

i am using CDP mode (1111)  and want to switch between 2 charging current values (low and high).

Only way i could achieve something so far is by switching to SPD2 mode (1110) however this only works one direction. once i go 1111->1110 , changing back to CDP doesnt bring back the higher (CDP) current limit.

it only works if i cycle the enable pin (which upsets the app running on the device).

1. is there a way of seamleasly transitioning between 2 current limits using CDP mode without breaking the data connections  ? i know it works for SDP however the charge current is too low.

2. Is there a way of having the D+ and D- switches connected to bus when EN pin is low ? (so the data passes through but no charging happens ? )

Kind regards,

Dariusz
