TPS7H3301-SP: Margin above abs max?

Part Number: TPS7H3301-SP

I have a customer interested in the “EN” rating since its max is 3.6V.  They are driving this pin with a 3.3V signal.  Its tolerance for worst case could be 3.6V

Would it be a problem if the signal sits at 3.6V with a few mV above or will the static diodes start conducting?

Any reliability risk exceeding abs max, slightly?

  • Gregory,

Unfortunately, from a legal standpoint it will violate the TI warranty and should be avoided.

We do not have the data to readily predict any reliability impact of this minor excursion.  Most probably it will not create significant stress to the input.
