BQ25703A: Power up with set voltage and current

Dear teams,

My customer has a requirement: They want to adjust the output voltage and current during the power up. For example, the default output voltage and current are 9V//128mA during power up. But now, they want to change it to 13.2V/3A during the power up.

FYI: What I means output voltage is the Vsys.

Hi Dylan,

Default voltage value is set by CELL_BATPRESZ. You cannot set starting up current to 3A.

But host can reset both values immediately after power up.

Dear Teams,

I know host can reset both V & I based on 8.3.2.2 from datasheet. But, customer is asking how to implement it? How to use host to reset both value?

Hi Dylan,

To implement is very simple, please refer to datasheet 8.4.1.2.

If customer never used TI charger before, I highly recommend practice their design ideas on an TI EVM before jump onto their own board. There are detailed instructions in EVM user guide on how to use charger.
