BQ76940: Balancing Section

Dear Texas Team,

We are planning to Put Balancing Resistor in Separate Pcb. So that Heat won't Generate in AFE Based PCB. Balancing Mosfet we will keep on Same Pcb which is having AFE.

Can I do that or how , please comment ?

    Hi Rohit,

    It seems possible.  One thing to consider is the resistance of the connector and sensing through the current path. The cells in the same group will not measure and balance at the same time, but at the cell group boundary one group may be measuring while the other group is balancing, you don't want to measure the connector pin voltage drop as part of the cell, so provide a separate connection to the balance resistor if needed.
