TPS3808: Using TPS3808G25 with VDD=3.3 V.

Part Number: TPS3808

HI,

Is there a problem in using the TPS3808G25 if VDD is 3.3 V. The table in chapter 5 in the data sheet, indicates that one should use TPS3808G33. The note under the same table says "Custom threshold voltages from 0.82 V to 3.3 V, 4.4 V to 5 V are available through the use of factory EEPROM programming" and the recommended operating conditions says VDD up to 6.5 V, not refering to the table in chapter 5.

Can it cause any problems using TPS3808G25 on VDD=3.3 V except that the threshold voltage will be lower than in the 3.3V version??

Thanks in advance!

  • Hi Sigurd,

The G25 vs G33 is just the threshold voltage. Feel free to use any VDD from 1.7V up to 6.5V and select your sense voltage threshold option based on your requirements.

Table 5 is an old way of specifying voltage thresholds. It does not refer to the TPS3808 VDD but instead the sense voltage power rail that is being monitored but its a recommendation.
