Design synchornous Buck converter with TL494

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TL494

Im going to desing synchronous buck converter  using TL494 with input voltage is 20V, output voltage is 5V and output current is 2amp. I wil use one two input mosfet driver(high side and low side mosfet driver) to controll the two mosfet in main buck converter circuit. Now can i take connection  one from collector(pin8) and one from emiter(pin10). For tight the output i want to connect pin 11 with pin 8 and pin 9 with pin 10. will it work? Thank u

  • Hello Md Nur Mostafa,

The collector and emitter outputs are uncommitted, so they can be used in many ways. It is also OK to connect the collectors and emitters together.
In general, if a switching transistor will drive your mosfet drive properly, it will work.

However, I do not have clear picture of the intended circuit. Which mosfet driver are you using? Is this a synchronous design?  (silly question, the answer is in the post's subject)
