Hello Team,
My customer started to evaluate LM5176-Q1 for super capacitor charging application after built their proto board based on our PMP21278 reference design and their schematic is almost same as that of PMP21278, except R14(342kohm) to set VOUT to 14.5V as attached schematic below. But the PGOOD flag was toggled when discharging the super capacitor as diagram below. My customer asked if this is normal behavior on PGOOD pin. If not, please find the possible root cause of this abnormal behavior on the PGOOD pin of LM5176-Q1.Their power requirements are as below;
- VIN=9-20V (Typ: 12V)
- VOUT=14.5V
- IOUT=25A
- fsw=240kHz
