LMR36520: Spread-Spectrum function

Part Number: LMR36520
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMR14020-Q1,

Dear Sir/Ms.

My customer is looking for an IC with the following specifications.

1. Vehicle regulations.
2. Vin: 7V~40V.
3. The frequency can be carried out below 27V.
4. Iout: 2A or more.

I remember that TI’s Buck ICs all support Spread-Spectrum, but they are not specifically written in the specifications. I still want to confirm.
Does this IC support Spread-Spectrum?

Best Regards,

Kami Huang

  • Hi Kami,

LMR36520 is not suitable for this situation. LMR14020-Q1 is recommended, which meet these  specifications and have a good price.

       1. No,LMR36520 is not AEC-Q100 qualified.

       2. Yes.

       3. LMR36520 use peak-current control mode. The frequency is fixed 400KHz. But it will enter PFM mode at light load. If you need a device which have a constant frequency over all input and all load range, LMR36520F is recommended. LMR36520F will enter FPWM mode at light load.

       4. Yes, it can support 2A output.

      LMR36520 doesn't support Spread-Spectrum.

    Victor
