BQ25895: Inquiries about Thermistor

Part Number: BQ25895
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ25890

Hi,

I am constructing a circuit using BQ25895.

What does thermistor in the reference circuit do?

Can you give a brief explanation?

The temperature of the battery pack is being checked by receiving information from the battery pack.

Is it mandatory to use thermistor as in the schematic?

If it is a thermistor to sense the temperature of the IC itself, it should be used,

but if it is to sense the temperature of the battery pack, I don't think it is necessary.

Please confirm.

Thanks.

Regards,

MJ
