TLV840: Pull-up resister on /RESET pin

Genius 17325 points
Part Number: TLV840

Hello,

In Section 7.5 of the datasheet, the below condition is described on the top of the table.

My customer has two questions for this 100KOhm pull-up condition in this description.

1)
When changing this pull-up resistance value, are there any parameters which is affected by this pull-up resistance value change in this table?
I understand VOL highly depends on the pull-up resistance value and Reset time delay(tD) is also affected by the value.
Are there any parameters?

2)
I think Ilkg(OD) (Open-Drain output leakage current) means input current when /RESET output is Hi-Z.
Does this leakage current value depend on pull-up resistance value?

3)
If 2) is yes, is this value under 100K ohm condition? Or directly connected to 6V?
How to think about other pull-up resistance value cases?

Regards,
Oba

  • Hi Oba-san,

    1)  When changing this pull-up resistance value, are there any parameters which is affected by this pull-up resistance value change in this table?
I understand VOL highly depends on the pull-up resistance value and Reset time delay(tD) is also affected by the value.
    Are there any parameters?

No, there should not be any other parameters that will be affected if you change the pull up resistor.  The measured VOL will be higher if the resistor value is lower.

    2)  I think Ilkg(OD) (Open-Drain output leakage current) means input current when /RESET output is Hi-Z.
Does this leakage current value depend on pull-up resistance value?

The leakage current spec is current going into the pin when VDD is applied.  Regardless of what value of the pull up resistor is, the pin will leak as VDD is applied.  The leakage spec is listed in the datasheet.

    3)  If 2) is yes, is this value under 100K ohm condition? Or directly connected to 6V?

How to think about other pull-up resistance value cases?

Regardless of the pull up resistor, the pin will leak.
