Hi,

Is the BQ34Z100-G1 really a drop in replacement for the BQ34z100? At first the EV2300 I had was not able to program the G1 version. Then once we started using the EV2400 and updated the programming software we were able to see the parts on the board.

Also, should we be able to use the same programming file and calibration procedure to get the same functionality as before the G1 option?

If not, can you share the changes between the devices so we know what testing and changes need to be made?

Hi Jose,

Bq34z100-g1 is a firmware upgrade, you don't need to change out the IC. All you need to do is flash the newer firmware found here:

The calibration procedure would be the same for both version.

Thank you for the feedback, can you provide a summary of the changes to help us understand how much testing we would need to do to ensure the everything is working correctly in our product. since we have been using the non G1 version for such a long time.
