Hello TI experts,

my customer wants to design their own PCM for battery cell, and they chose BQ29700.

mow they want to know the specification of 2 N-channel FETs, in simplified schematic on page 1 of datasheet.

could you recommend the cheapest one from TI parts? they finally chose BQ29700.

    Hi Chase,

    I'm really not able to specify the FET for them.  There are many factors which go into selecting a FET for a product, size, current, thermal design, etc.  If they have no idea of their needs they might consider the FET used on the EVM: see  https://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/sluuaz3  Q1 and Q2, the CSD16301Q2.  This FET has RDSON specified down to 3V, BQ297000 has UV at 2.8 V, so there will be some operation where the FET voltage increases beyond the spec value.  Other FETs may be found from the selection tables at http://www.ti.com/mosfet .  The selection tables do not have a lot of information on RDSON, you might select a candidate and ask the FET experts for more guidance.
