HI,

Does TI have linear regulators which have output over voltage protection function?

I couldn't find appropriate parts...

It would be very appreciated if you give some advice for finding right part.

    Actually, The reason why I asked this is that now I'm gathering information for the web seminar material we're going to hold. 

    I'd like to know whether linear regulators commonly have output over voltage protection function or not.

    Hi Go,

    The LDOs I have seen to have OVS protection is mostly for automotive. One example here is TPS7B7702 and which has a reverse battery and reverses current protections. 

    For most of the LDO, for OVS, you need to find the voltage limit from the absolute max on the output pin, and if the output voltage is exceeding the input voltage, the reverse current could happen. 

    I would suggest reading this whitepaper on the automotive LDOs that includes most of the protection features you would expect from an LDO.
