BQ25890H: expected maximum spikes for Vsys

Hi, 

I have a customer who is using the  BQ25890H. He is asking what is the expected maximum spikes for Vsys (charger system voltage, pins 15 & 16) if a charger is connected to the system while no battery is connected? Should he implement overvoltage protection to Vsys rail, or the SYSOVP (System Overvoltage Protection) is enough?
