Inverter Design (support and training)

Greetings

We at Triton electric Vehicle are developing a solar, grid, generator and battery (as inputs) connected to a pure sine wave transform less single split phase inverter.

The specifications include- Input voltage- 120 input max current- 50A

Output AC voltage- 230VAC/120VAC output max current- 22A/42A

AC grid frequency 50Hz/60Hz.

Will TI able to support us with reference design or support in design like circuit design and schematics.

Thank you

Regards

  • Thejas,

Have you seen this design? This is a good starting point. If you have specific questions on C2000 or other devices as you get into it feel free to post again.

    Regards,

    John

  • Greetings John

I did look at this design. this design provides only low current specifications and low power.

We are looking for a high power design. I don't know whether the existing design has any capabilities of that high power.

We are looking at input voltage at 120Vdc at 50A input current (for grid connected) and also we have battery pack at 48 V at 210A input.

Any possibility in from TI to assist us in support and design for our custom made product.

Any inputs will be helpful and appreciated.

    thank you

    Regards

    Thejas

  • Thejas,

Apologies my team does not have another design similar to your requirements. My recommendation would be to post on the C2000 MCU forum. Those controllers are most typically used for inverters and motor drive for example and may have other designs more similar.

    Regards

    John

  • Hi Thejas,

Please accept my sincere apologies in the delay in responding to you.  I will not make excuses but please understand this is not our standard for support.  I have assigned this thread to a subject matter expert who can better answer your questions.  You should expect a repsonse from him today.

    Best Regards,

    Joe

  • C2000 team at TI does not have a reference design close to what you are looking for. It seems like you need an MPPT DC/DC stage for the solar front-end. Then you need a single phase inverter. The single inverter ref design suggested below is the only one we have at this time. For higher power we have three phase inverter ref design. TIDA-1606 is a 5kVA 3ph inverter ref design that will be released by the end of this month.

For MPPT stage the only design we have is a very old one released in 2013. That is a 600W MPPT DC/DC boost, 200Vin, 400V out. You can look for this at TI website.

That's all we have at this time.
