BQSTUDIO: Target Selection Wizard

Part Number: BQSTUDIO
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ40Z80, GPCRB, , EV2400

TI support,

I've got stuck when selecting a target device at Target Selection Wizard.

I have already been under development of our application using BQ40Z80 device.

This time, I have to GPCRB for low temp optimization to be done.

However, bqStudio has crashed after a few seconds when writing the "chemdat12_ID****" getting from GPCRB tool.

One of past posts says reinstalling the bqStudio will resolve , so I've done it.

(Version updated from 1.3.86.6 to 1.3.101.1)

Then, my using device are not in the target list as attached picture below in spite of Auto Detect Device:4800_0_04 through EV2400.

I only found the similar device of 4800_0_02.

The 4800_0_04 device must have existed in the former version of bqStudio since I used before.

What should I do? Can I use 4800_0_02 in stead of 4800_0_04?

What is the difference between 4800_0_02 and 4800_0_04?

Regards,

Kunny

  • Hello Kunny,

If you used the firmware updater, it will place the bqz file in the path for bqStudio, when you reinstall it will update the folder with the bqz file.

You can manually place the .bqz file (from the firmware download) into the config folder of the bqStudio download.

    The default path is: C:\ti\BatteryManagementStudio\config

Do not use other bqz files because these are used to map memory locations and can cause the device to be damaged.

    Sincerely,

    Wyatt Keller
