Dear Sir,

I am using CSD17318Q2 for BQ77915.

I am measuring the resistance between the source and drain terminals of CSD17318Q2 it is showing 30K

Can you please suggest a better MOSFET than this??

Hi Murthy,

Thanks for your interest in TI FETs. The drain-to-source leakage current specified in the datasheet is 1uA max at Vds = 24V & Vgs = 0V & Ta = 25C. Your measurement of 30kOhms equates to much higher leakage. Make sure that the gate is not floating when you make a resistance measurement. Always make the measurement with the drain connected to the positive lead and the source to the negative lead. Measuring resistance with the opposite polarity may forward bias the body diode of the FET leading to a lower resistance measurement. Also, if you are making the measurement in circuit, there may be leakage paths other than the MOSFET which can affect the results.

I need to know more about your application to determine if the CSD17318Q2 is the best FET for the job. In general, power MOSFETs have very low drain-source leakage current when in the OFF state. TI has FETs with lower specified leakage but they may not meet the requirements for your application.

Can you tell me the current and voltage requirements along with the gate drive voltage for the FET? TI does have some very small FETs such as CSD15380F3 and CSD17381F4 that have lower leakage specs and may work for your application.
