I beleive BQ34Z100-G1 can be used for system-side gauge.
Is my understanding correct?

The bq34z100-G1 can operate as either as a pack side or a system system side gauge.

Can you elaborate on this? Is there a way to reconfigure to use PACK- as VSS? Invert the current measurements?

Hi Gabriel,

Pack side just means attached to the cell permanently. all our gauges can be pack side.

I want to use it as system side, but negate the issue of BAT- and PACK- being offset by the current sense resistor. So I wanted to see if there was a way to reconfigure the hw/fw to make PACK- system ground along with VSS.

Hi Gabriel,

There is no way to do this. We have bq27441 which uses a high side sense.
