BQ76952EVM: how to use on board EV2400 with external BQ76952

Part Number: BQ76952EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ76952, EV2400

Hello

I would like to use the EV2400 present in the BQ76952EVM with an external BQ76952. How can I do it without any issues? Kindly suggest.

  • Hi Anjan,

This can be done by removing the J16 and J19 jumpers and connecting to pin 3 of each of these jumpers. Removing the jumpers will disconnect the IC on the EVM from the EV2400 circuit. Then connecting your external device to J16 pin 3 (SDA) and J19 pin 3 (SCL) will connect your external device to the I2C of the EV2400 circuit.

You should also connect the PACK- signal (J17 pin 1) to the PACK- of your external BQ76952 board to ensure the I2C has a common ground. Finally, you should make sure you have pullup resistors in place on the external board for the I2C lines.

    Best regards,

    Matt
