Hello,

I am searching a charger IC for charging 3s1p and 3S2P Li-ion battery. It looks like BQ24170 may work, and fits better than BQ24133. Do you recommend have any stand alone charger IC?

Can you email me the Altium design files for the BQ24170EVM-610-15V, BQ24133EVM-715-15V?

Hi Danny,

BQ24133 and BQ24170 are members of the same IC family. We recently released BQ25306 which might work as well.

The EVM files for BQ24133 and BQ24170 are not in Altium. They are in either PCAD or PADs. I tried to import but can't because I don't have the associated libraries. Do you still want the files?

Thank you for checking the Altium files for the EVM boards. PADs file works for me,

The new part BQ25306 claims for 1 cell with max 17V input. Does it work well for 3S or 4S?

Please see attached files and refer to EVM User's Guide disclaimer. BQ25306 is for 2S only.

Danny,

One comment about the layout on those EVM files. They are not optimized for lowest radiated EMI. If EMI is a concern for you, I recommend moving the inductor further away from the chip so that you can place the PVCC capacitor and an additional 0.1uF capacitor across the top of the IC for the short connection from PVCC to GND. You will have to via the SW pins down and back up to connect the inductor.
