ULQ2003A: Output current vs Input current

Hi, Team,

I have the following questions for ULQ2003A from a customer.

Please support the following questions.

 

1. There is a graph of Figure.8(Minimum Output Current vs Input current) in datasheet(SLRS027P –DECEMBER 1976–REVISED AUGUST 2019).

    Can you show any data with Input current=<250uA about this graph?

２．a) :What is the minimum INPUT current to have OUTPUT(xC)=L for ULQ2003ADR?

　　b) :And at such minimum INPUT current above, how much current is OUTPUT(xC) able to sink?

3．Are there any restrictions and precautions when pull-up and/or pull-down resisters are connected at INPUT(xB)?

    Hi Someno-san,

    1. We do not have this data readily available. Due to the age of this device, support and data availability is limited.

    2. a. Please refer to the off state input current on the electrical characteristics table. We define the off state input current for ULQ2003A to typically be 50uA.

        b. When the off state input current was tested, the conditions included for a 500uA collector to emitter leakage current at 50V, and 70C.

    I would recommend pulling the input to GND to minimize leakage current.

    3. We do not have any restriction in place here. I believe standard pull up/down resistor values like 10k or 100k should be fine.

    I have additional questions from customer.

    - About About 1,  customer would like to know the the input current needed to flow low output sink current around 5 to 50mA range strongly. 

    So they request  the data with Input current=<250uA about Figure-8(Minimum output sink current vs input current).

    Would you please support this request?   If you have any simulation data, It will be okay.

    As new question regarding to the graph of Figure-8,

    - Does the graph in Figure 8 apply to all products regardless of ULN / ULQ and 2003/2004?

    Someno-san,

    Unfortunately, we cannot provide the requested data here. Due to the age of the device, the data available is minimal and is mostly represented by the datasheet. We also recommend this device to be used as a switch, i.e, during low input, 0 output current flows and during high input, output current is set by the nature of the load.

    Figure 8 describe the minimum output current supported for input current for all listed devices on the datasheet.
