BQ25703A: About I2C access wait time

Part Number: BQ25703A

Hi,

Customer is conducting battery insertion / removal tests in a battery-only state.
Could you tell me the I2C access wait time when connect the battery without VBUS?
They want that information to determine the delay time from the host to access the BQ25703A.

Regards,
Yusuke

  • Hi Yusuke,

If there is no adapter connected, then VBAT must be higher than VBAT_UVLOZ before I2C communication is active. I don't think there is a set delay time that is required on top of this. However, even after VBAT > VBAT_UVLOZ, I would still suggest waiting a short time in case there is any voltage "bounce" immediately after the battery is inserted. 10 ms should be a reasonable amount of time to wait, but it is always best for the customer to test their own design thoroughly in order to make sure that everything works as expected.

    Best regards,

    Angelo
