JASO means Japanese_Automotive_Standards_Organization.
D1 and D2 are test for automobiles against the transient voltage surge on the basis of the General Rules of the Environmental Testing Methods JASO published by the Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan.

it looks like ISO7637-2, Pulse test. below is one article introduce the Ti solution. most customer will have a TVS with passive component to clamp the input voltage below 36V which make the first stage DCDC working below its max voltage.
