Please let me know three points below about NRESWARM pin connection for TPS6590378 and AM5728;

①When ON request use POWERHOLD (GPIO_7) and unused warm reset, can BOOT1 pin set to 0 (Low) no problem?

　I guess that AM5728 silicon revision 1.1 and 2.0 should set BOOT1: 1 (High), correct?

　※Errata is below, i862

②Now, TPS6590378 and AM5728 are connecting RESET_OUT ⇒ porz, and retoutn ⇒ NRESWARM.

　When unused warm reset, should NRESWARM left floating?

　If possible, customer hope to unchanged schematic: retoutn ⇒ NRESWARM on unused NRESWARM condition.

③Is there timing condition for NRESWARM's edge of Low ⇒ High?

　(Delay, slope, etc)

Hello, I have answers for questions #2 and #3.

2- yes should be floating if not used

3- There’s not really any requirement. If it’s set low, it will trigger a warm reset

For question#3, I'm still working on it and will answer soon.

Hello, here is my answer for question#1:

The difference between BOOT1=0 and BOOT1=1 is that with BOOT1=1, RESET_OUT will pulse twice (low->high->low->high), and RESET_OUT will toggle (high->low->high) during warm reset. This is required for some AM572 errata workarounds even on silicon 2.0. With workarounds, BOOT1 can be set to 0.

On application note sprz429m page 54, customer already connecting the implementation 1.

Are these connecting with unused warm reset condition OK to BOOT1 set 0?

To begin with, is NRESWARM connecting wrong on unused warm reset condition?

(If NRESWARM left floating, is BOOT1 set to 0, OK?)

I would recommend reviewing section 7 "Warm Reset Sequences" of the TPS659037 User's Guide to Power AM574x, AM572x, and AM571x. This provides more information on how to set the BOOT1 pin depending on the desired outcome.

Thank you for reply,

On customer case, already set warm reset connection and changed unused warm reset condition.

These case is not described that BOOT1 held 0 OK or NG on application note.

Please let me confirm above BOOT1 setting (should to set 1, or it is OK to set 0)

Hi Satoshi-san,

My understanding is that BOOT1=0 or BOOT1=1 are both valid configurations when not using warm reset. According to this E2E thread, the only function of the BOOT1 pin is for setting whether there is a pulse on the RESET_OUT pin during warm reset. So in this case BOOT1 can be tied either high or low if warm reset is not going to be used.
