Hi TI community!
I’m using the BQ25606 in a pcb responsible to charge a 270mAh LiPo battery. The current limit set to 500mA, and due to space constraint on the pcb area, I’ve reduced the inductor size by decreasing the value from 1uH to 470nH. The component selected (Mfr.No PE-0603CLHR47STS) has been sized based on the section 9.2.2.1 of the datasheet (BQ25606 Standalone 3.0-A Single Cell Battery Charger datasheet (Rev. B) (ti.com)).
However on the bq25606 design note Designing Standalone Single Cell 3-A Charger with bq25606 (ti.com), I found the following:
“Output inductance: 1 μH to 2.2 μH The charger has implemented internal compensation. Strictly follow the output inductance and SYS capacitance guidelines to ensure the system stability and performance.”
Can anyone advise if it's safe to use 470nH inductor?
Thanks in advance,
Francesco
