BQ27Z561-R2: Fuel-Gauge IC layout recommendation

For a product I have looked for a Fuel-Gauge which can handle up to 25000mAh (1S7P) battery

I have come across BQ27Z561-xx family and they seems suitable for the product, but there is one issue on the PCB we can't have blind vias or vias in the pad and then it is impossible to rote the track to the bumps of BQ27Z561.
I there an application note available showing a recommended layout?

Or is the Fuel-Gauge available in another package?

Or can TI recommend similar fuel gauge in a package suitable for PCB's without blind vias.

The fuel gauge is for a system with embedded battery

Hello Henrik,

There is a recommended layout in the data sheet, you can also reference the EVM user's guide which has the PCB layers imaged.

Otherwise I would recommend another gauge like the bq40z50 which has a VQFN package.

I have had a look at the EVM but had hoped there was a layout recommendation for PCBs without blind vias

I think I will have a look at BQ34Z100-G1 instead

Hello Henrik,

Yes the bq34z100-g1 gauge can also support your application, you will need to use vias for the bq27z561 package.
