BQ28Z610-R1: Bus low timeout reset of the I 2C engine

Part Number: BQ28Z610-R1

Hi Team,

Could you explain more detial about the new features of BQ28Z610-R1 "Bus low timeout reset of the I 2C engine"?

Is that mean timeout will keep counting if there is no communication action?

Thanks and best regards,

Jamie

  • Hello Jamie,

Here is the explanation in the data sheet:

8.3.12 I 2C Timeout The I 2C engine will release both SDA and SCL if the I 2C bus is held low for ~2 seconds. If the BQ28Z610-R1 device were holding the lines, releasing them frees the master to drive the lines. Note: that the low time setting can be under firmware control but the HW default is 2 seconds.

The lines need to be held low for approximately 2 seconds to reset the HW comm engine.

    Sincerely,

    Wyatt Keller
