TPS4H160-Q1: if customer doesn't need Diagnostics function , can they shift B version to A version directly?

Part Number: TPS4H160-Q1

Hi

Our customer uses B version of TPS4H160-Q1 in their design  before, because B version cannot meet their Mass production purchase need currently, if they don't need Diagnostics function , can they shift B version to A version directly without modification of  schematic and PCB?

  • Hello user4681182,

Yes you can swap from the B version of the TPS4H160-Q1 to the A version of the TPS4H160-Q1 without issue. The ST pins will just not be functional as they are meant to be open drain outputs from the TPS4H160-Q1 and need to be pulled up to logic level high, however if they are not being used it doesn't matter what is on the other end.

I would recommend keeping DIA_EN low in your software if you are not using diagnostics. This will reduce power consumption of the device.
