LP3943: Understanding LED Vih

Part Number: LP3943

Hello,

I want to drive RGB and white LEDs using an I2C driver. I have read the datasheet of LP3943 and i don't understand the meaning of the LED Vih min = 2V. It means that the voltage on LED port must be always greater than 2V?

My idea was to supply LED's with 3.3V with a maximum LED forward voltage of 3V. Will it work with the driver or the LED voltage drop is to big?

Thanks!

  • Hi Ferran,

The Vil and Vih of LED pins would be considered when the pin are used as IO expender. when it is used as LED driver pin, the range of voltage need to pay attention is 0 to 6V.

So it will work normally with the driver to supply LED with 3.3V for a maximum LED forward voltage of 3V.

    Best Regard
