BQ25731EVM: BQ25731 EVM

Part Number: BQ25731EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ25731, BQ25792, , EV2400, BQSTUDIO

Hello  expert.

 I have old version EV2300 (HPA002).    Can't I use EV2300 to evaluate BQ25731 and BQ25792 ?

Per BQ25731EVM users guide,   it just describe how to connect EV2400 to EVM with Battery management studio S/W.

To verify EV2300 workability,   I setup the Battery management studio.   But there was no above 2 part number.

Both EV2300 and EV2400 function is just send and receive data  based on I2C, SMB and HDQ protocol.

No way to evaluate BQ25731 and BQ25792  with EV2300 and Battery management studio ?

Thank you !

YS Kim   .

  • Hi YS,

We recommend using the newer EV2400, but you should be able to use the EV2300 as well. However, you will need the BQ25731 bqz file and the BQ25792 bqz file in order to evaluate the chargers with BQStudio, regardless of whether you are using the EV2300 or the EV2400.

I have sent you a friendship request through E2E. Please accept this friendship request, and then I will be able to send you the bqz files.

    Best regards,

    Angelo

  • Hi  Angelo,

     Thank you very much !

I din't know how to reach friendship pages.   I just found the page and accepted.

Would you pls send me BQ25731.bqz and BQ25792.bqz files ?       And also inform me how to add the files ?

Just copy the bqz filr into   ---  C:\ti\BatteryManagementStudio\config   ---  folder ?   Or by program to register the device?

    Thanks & regards,

    YS Kim

  • Hi YS,

Thanks for accepting the friendship request. I have sent you a private message containing the bqz files. All you need to do is save the bqz files inside your BQStudio config folder, and then they should show up in the list of supported targets next time you launch BQStudio.

    Best regards,

    Angelo
