Hi TI expert

May I know if TPS61089 has a function which prevent the output voltage from pouring back to the input?

the second issue is what is the effect of applying a voltage lower than its Vout on the output of tps61089?

Hi Thomax,

1. If output voltage is applied higher than setting Vout, the device works in PFM mode so current won't flow back to input.

2. If applied voltage is lower than setting Vout, TPS61089 will regulate the output voltage to setting Vout.

If the tps61089 is not working, will the voltage be poured back to the input if the voltage is applied to its output? as a result of?

Hi Thomas,

No. the high-side MOSFET body diode direction is from SW to Vout. There is no reverse current.
