BQ40Z50-R2: Question regarding multiple BQ40z50-R2 use case and sleep mode

Hello expert,

I have questions for BQ40z50-R2.

First question is related multiple use case.
We'd like to use 2pcs BQ40z50-R2 on same SMBus line.
Is there any way of achieving this requirement?

Remaining questions are relating sleep mode as follows.

  1. Is their any protection function which is disabled under sleep mode?
  2. we'd like to change the mode to sleep mode by depended on output current. Is this possible?
  3. Would you tell me how to control DSG pin's status under sleep mode?

    Hello Kazuki-san,

    To operate on the same bus you may need to use a mux device to select between gauges because they use they same address:

    The protections will still be active, the firmware based may be delayed due to the slower rate of sampling of the current, voltage, and temperature.

    The conditions to activate sleep are described in the TRM section 5.3.1 Device Sleep.

    DSG FET should be on in sleep.
