Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS25750

Hello Team,

Good day. My customer is searching an IC that can do some kind of "power detection" without too much involvement of the CPU. Ideally it would detect USB Battery Charging "Charging Downstream Ports" (CDP) as well as Power Delivery capable host interfaces (ideally PD 1.0 via USB supply as well as PD 1.3 via CC lines) and just provide the information whether they can get (for example) >= 1A from the port. They already have a controller that they want to use and that should communicate with the Host directly (or via an Hub). That controller is quite fixed due to customer requirements.

Regards,

Renan

  • The TPS25750 () is ideal for this purpose.  It can be configured to operate completely autonomously from the host MCU and supports CDP, DCP, as well as power delivery (PD3.0)

I am not certain what you mean by controller, but I am assuming that this is a MCU that operates on the USB bus.  The TPS25750 will support routing through the USB to any MCU pins on the controller to support power mode selection as well as a USB2.0 datapath.

Please let me know if you have any further questions about how to use the TPS25750.
