I am not getting an option to insert a file, like you have highlighted below ( I don't see the same GUI as you).

It is only giving me to option to insert a file by adding a URL link. Is there another way I can add a file/image please.

Hi Aileen,

Is it only the battery that is connected at the OUT pin? Is there anything else connected to the OUT pin such as a load? Do you know if this occurs at a specific battery voltage? 

Are you able to recreate this issue?

Here is the full page of the schematic, so you can see what else is on the out pin of the PMIC. VDD_EN is low, therefore Q3 and Q6 are off when charging.  VCC provides power to the MCU but it is in sleep mode when charging. So sleep current is  < 6uA.

I have been able to recreate this issue. And I have used a different battery with the same controller and the issue was present.  I haven't done enough testing to say it  happens at all battery voltages.

Have you use the REG1 IC before in with the BQ24040? Are you able to try charging without this device? 

HI, the regulator is being used for the last 3.5 years with the BQ24040.  

in the drop box image SCRN0501.png, it can be seen that the current is flickering between 290mA and 0mA, after pwr_gd goes low.  Then when Chg_indicator goes low, the current will stabilize to 290mA and the charging will  resume as normal and the battery will charge as expected.  However, in a good device, the current will not flicker at the beginning as seen in SCRN0508.png.

However intermittently, when pwr_gd goes low, the charging current will flicker between XmA and 0mA. But chg_indicator will never go low and the current will remain flickering between XmA and 0mA. see image SCRN0490.png.

Hi Aileen,

To ensure the charger by itself is working to isolate issues, are you testing without the regulator? This can help isolate the issue and help us diagnose the problem.
